BAKKE, HAUGEN, JOHNSON

Ingvold O. Bakke, a resident at the Good Samaritan center for the last 12 years, died there Thursday, Sept. 29. He was 102.

He was the son of John P. and Isabelle Haugen Bakke, born in Center township Aug. 9, 1881. He was a farmer and was married to Emma Johnson.

Bakke attended local schools and Waukon Business college. He was the treasurer for Center township for many years and for many years held the position of secretary-treasurer of Scandinavian Insurance company.

He is survived by a son Charles of Waterville and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, one child in infancy, and the following brothers and sisters, Melvin, Coney, Theodore, Julius, Ottenus, Nora, Olga, Idelia, Gusta and Paul.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 from Old West Paint Creek Lutheran church. The Rev. Richard Sansgaard officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Martin's funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Herman Willger, Herb Ward, Donald Bakke, James Winke, Joe Bakke and Lester Bakke.
