DIED - at his home on Lansing Ridge, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1889, Rev. Jacob Reuth, aged fifty-one years and six months.
The funeral of the dead pastor took place on Friday, the sermon being delivered by Rev. Jno. Single, whose successor to this pastorate Rev. Reuth was. Rev's Merten and Schmitt made brief addresses - the former at the house and the latter at the grave. There was a large attendance at the funeral, the church officers acting as pall bearers. Prof. Jas. P. Conway and hs pupils attended in a body.
Rev. Reuth had been in charge of this pastorate for about fifteen months, and had been seriously ill for the past three months with dropsy. He had been in this country for twenty years, all of which time he had devoted to the church.
He leaves a wife, besides a host of devoted friends to mourn his loss.
