DEATH OF MRS. CHAS. DEREMO
After Long Suffering Death Comes - Funeral at Sac City
On Thursday afternoon, April 21, Mrs. Charles Deremo departed this life at her home in Wall Lake township. She had been afflicted nine years and confined to her bed most of the time for five years, enduring much pain and suffering greatly. The cause of her death is said to have been eczema and bronchitis. The funeral sermon was preached in the Christian church at Sac City by Rev. H.U. Dale, after which the remains were interred in Oakland cemetery.Melissa Dubay was born March 11, 1853, at Lansing, Allamakee county, Iowa and was married August 22, 1872 to Chas. W. Deremo at Waukon, Iowa, where they lived until 1880, when they moved into this county; and they have remained ever since. She was the mother of nine children, of whom the youngest is eight years old; all are living and all were present at the funeral.
