DIED - At the residence of Judge Burdick, in this city, on Thursday last, the 24th inst., Mr. George Jewell; aged 22 years.

The deceased was a gentleman universally esteemed by those of our citizens who knew him. He had for nearly three years been a student in Hon. S.H. Kinne's law office, and last spring was admitted to the bar after passing a most rigid examination and acqutting himself with the highest honors.

No young man had brighter prospects for the future, and it is sad indeed to think that thus early in life he was cut down.
