It will be a surprise to many of our older citizens to learn of the death of Marshall Giddings, who was a resident of Lansing many years ago.

For some years past he had been in the hardware business at St. Charles, Minn. Some months ago he became indisposed and went to Milwaukee for treatment. The physicians there who were in attendance upon him told him that he had Bright's disease of the kidneys, and recommended that he go to the Waukesha Springs. He did so, but without benefit and last week his death was announced.

We are sorry to learn of his death, for he was one of those good, whole-souled men who are too seldom met with during the trials and struggles of life when true friends are most appreciated. He had had his ups and downs in the struggle and was beginning to come out at the top when disease came upon him. He leaves a wife and child to bereave his demise.
