DIED - Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hewit had the misfortune to lose, by fever, their youngest child, last Friday. He was aged 9 months and 21 days.

The funeral took place last Monday, the remains being brought from Waukon and deposited in Oakwood Cemetery.

The afflicted parents have the sympathy of their many friends in this city.

Note: Some early obituaries name Old Oak Hill & Oak Hill cemeteries as 'Oakwood' cemetery. Leonard has a gravestone in the Old Oak Hill cemetery.
The stone is engraved: Leonardo, son of G. & M. Hewit, died May 16, 1874.
