Louie A. Martie

Louie Adolph Martie was born November 23, 1896 in Clayton County near Elkader. He died November 18.

Louie, son of Caroline Peterson Martie and Joseph Martie was baptized and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf. He was a World War I veteran.

November 10, 1920 he was united in marriage to Hilma Nelson. They lived in the Elgin and Elkader area and in 1936 moved to the Osage area.

Survivors include his wife, Hilma; one son, Leo of Manly; three daughters, Mrs. George (Carol) Anhorn, Mitchell; Mrs. Donald (Iva Nelle) Hockinson, Ankeny; and Mrs. Leslie (Betty) Graverson, Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Merlin, Castalia.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
