FRENCH CREEK FARMER DIES

Jacob Charles Ebner died last Thursday at his home in French Creek Township, where he has been confined for several months with anemia. He was aged 75 years, 5 months, and 8 days.

Deceased was born in Buch, Germany, July 25, 1853. He came to America with his parents at the age of six months and settled near Lansing, Iowa where he grew to manhood. On Jan. 1, 1877, he was united in marriage with Johanna Leppert, and to this union eight children were born, two preceding the father in death. Those who, with the sorrowing mother mourn the departure of a good, kind, and loving husband and father are as follows: Mrs. Charles Wild, Emma, Walter, Mrs. Herman Gelo, and Harvey of Church, Iowa, and Frank, of Wabasha, Minn. He is also survived by K.F. Ebner of Cando, ND., a brother, and five half brothers a follows: August Gang, Bristol, Ind; Joseph, of Sturgis, Minn; John of Cando, ND.; Fred of San Bernardino, Calif.; and nemerous other relatives and friends.

His religious training he received in the Methodist Episcopal Church to which faith he clung until his last hours. He was a member of Waukon Branch of Woodman Lodge.

The funeral which was largely attended was held from the home and at the Congregational Church at Church, Iowa, Monday afternoon at one o'clock conducted by the Rev. Arthur C. Prust assisted by the Rev. Kurt Schalk. Interment was made in the family lot of the May's Prairie Cemetery.
