Services Held Friday for Gregory Colsch

Gregory Gerard Colsch, 18, of rural Waukon, died Wednesday, October 15, at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

He was born October 15, 1962, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Colsch. He was a senior student at Waukon Senior High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, West Ridge. Greg was an honor student, a member of the National Honor Society, and a National Merit Scholarship program commended student. He was a member of the West Ridge Riders 4-H club and was a mass server at St. John's.

He is survived by his parents; maternal grandmother Mrs. Julia Mauss of Waukon and four brothers and eight sisters, Bonnie of Iowa City, Jay, Michael, Keith, and Karen of Dubuque, Mary Beth, Cheryl, Kathy, Chris, Nichole and Jenny at home, and Lee of Waukon.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with burial in St. John the Baptist cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Roach, Rev. Mike Tauke, and Rev. Vincent Simon officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were Brian Drew, John Mahoney, Rick Rea, Kerry Becker, Barry Colsch, and Jim Welper. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
