We were surprised last evening to learn of the death of Mr. George Miller, one of our oldest German citizens, who is universally known to those who reside or have resided here.
His disease was consumption, his age ___.
He leaves a large family in very fair circumstances, the earnings of hard and unceasing toil. For many years he has been the city sexton, and many are the graves he has prepared for the lost and loved ones from among the families in our midst, as well as for the friendless and pauper.
Who now will prepare the old sexton's last resting place? All who can should pay the last sad respects to the dead and escort his remains to the tomb.
