Died on Sunday morning, Feb. 9th, 1873, of inflammation of the bowels, Mrs. Ann Farrell, wife of John Farrell, of this city, aged 41 years.

The deceased was a native of the parish of Barnacoona, Longford county, Ireland, and emigrated to this country in 1844, was married to John Farrel July 30, 1848, by Rev. John Loughlin, now Bishop of Brooklyn, New York.

Came with her husband to this city in 1854, since which time she has resided here, and by her industry, tact and energy, greatly assisted her husband in amassing a competence.

She was taken sick on Friday evening last, but no fears whatever of her death were entertained by her husband or children, but the dread messenger was coming, and on Sunday morning about nine o'clock, the angel of death came and carried the soul of Ann Farrell home to God.

A large concourse of mourning relatives and friends that attended her remains to its last resting place this morning sufficiently attested the esteem and regard in which the deceased was held, and to say that Ann Farrell is truly and sincerely mourned by husband, children, and friends, is but to state the simple truth.

Always affable, pleasant and genial in her disposition, she endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact, and while endeavoring by kindness and charity, to make her home here below a paradise, she was also prepared by a good and well spent life for that happy paradise beyond the skies.

"An angel [illegible] the realms of day,
Came to her room with silent tread,
And bore our best-loved one away,
And now we call her dead.

She is not dead, she but went down
To rise upon a fairer shore,
And bright in Heaven's jewelled crown,
She'd shine forever more."
