Another of Lafayette's old settlers has joined the great and silent majority. James McGuire succumbed to an attack of asthma and pneumonia Thursday and was buried in Wexford Saturday.

Deceased was born in County Louth, Ireland, and was aged about 66 years. Came to America about thirty years ago and settled in Wexford, which has since been his home.

A widow and four sons, Patrick, now in Nebraska, John, James and George of Wexford, and two daughters, Mary and Kate, the former married, and all fully grown survive him.

Mr. McGuire was an honest, industrious man and the large funeral cortege that followed his remains to the grave paid silent but more eloquent tribute than can any words of ours to his worth as a husband, father , neighbor and friend. Peace to his ashes.
