Charles Manja
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 2, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul Lutheran church for Charles Manja who died at his home October 31. The Rev. Otto officiated.
Charles Manja, son of John Manja and Rosena Kush, was born in Posen, Germany December 13, 1879. He was baptized in Germany and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois, March 26, 1893.
On April 21, 1926 he was united in marriage to Emma Linderbaum at Postville. He had resided in Postville since 1942 and on April 2, 1944 was received into membership in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville.
Among his several occupations Mr. Manja ran a grain elevator and prior to his retirement was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Emma, an older sister, Mrs. Mary Fett of Chicago Heights, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
