The remains of Miss Mamie Devlin of Viroqua, Wis., who succumbed to the insidious ravages of consumption Thursday last, were brought to this city and interred in the Catholic cemetery west of town on Saturday in accordance with her wishes.
Deceased was born here twenty years ago last October. Although spending but brief periods of her existence in Lansing, she was a general favorite and the esteem in which she was held was attested by the large crowd at the train and church.
She was a beautiful, lovable girl and had been ailing about two years. The floral decorations and casket were among the finest ever seen in this city.
Requiem High Mass was sung for her in the morning and on the arrival of the remains at 1:15 they were taken direct to the church, where after the blessing, an opportunity was given to view them and hundreds passed in reverential awe before them.
The parents are nearly distracted over the loss of their only daughter, but can console themselves with the thought that every thing possible was done to save her.

Notes: She has a cenotaph in the Viroqua cemetery, Viroqua, Wi. Her parents & other family members are buried in the family lot, where there is a very large DEVLIN monument surrounded by the individual stones (see findagrave). It is not known by me if she also has a gravestone in Gethsemane cemetery.
