KENNETH EUGENE FERGUSON
Kenneth E. Ferguson, 74, of rural Waukon, died Saturday, January 10, 2004, at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.
Kenneth Eugene Ferguson was born April 12, 1929, in rural Monona, Iowa, the son of William and Anna (Timmerman) Ferguson. After attending rural Monona Schools, he worked in Davenport for a time. From 1955 to 1957, he served in the US Army. Following the service, he returned to rural Waukon to farm, first in Ludlow and later Makee Township. He operated a general farm raising a dairy herd and hogs along with crops.
On March 19, 1959, he married Judy Moreland at Preston, Minn. Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He liked watching wildlife and often fed the pheasants on his land. He also enjoyed visiting with neighbors, friends, and family.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of Waukon; three children, Debra and husband Chuck Otting of St. Joseph, Mo., and their children Ashley, Katie, and Douglas, Daryle Ferguson of Pahrump, Nev., and his children Sean and Jessica and their mother Christine of Duluth, Minn., and Tony Ferguson of Winslow, Ariz.; a brother, Jason and his wife Arleen Ferguson of Monona; and a sister, Mary Nagel of Waukon.
Casketbearers were Chuck Otting, Gary Moreland, Ernie Osland, Brian and Willard Bieber, Marlyn Buerger, and Henry Miene.
