BENJAMIN PAUL KLOCKE
Benjamin P. Klocke, age 49, of St. Olaf and formerly of Waukon, died Monday, December 8, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque following a sudden illness. Funeral services were held Friday, December 12 at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon with Rev. Richard N. Eick officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
Benjamin Paul Klocke was born June 16, 1954, in Waukon, the son of Paul Edward and Ruth Doris (Sickmeier) Klocke. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ. Ben graduated from Waukon High School in 1972 and attended NIACC in Mason City.
Ben was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and New Life Christian Church in Waukon. He enjoyed doing things with computers, taking rides in the country, playing chess and video games, and playing cards, especially euchre.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Lee Melby of Wisconsin; a sister, Rosalette (Owen) Schellhammer of Strawberry Point; a niece, Denise Schiffman of Strawberry Point; an aunt, Dorothy Fiet of Waukon; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Paulette Klocke.
Honorary casketbearer was Jonathan Ice.
Casketbearers were Leo Halverson, Calvin and Rueben Shindoll, Duane Miller, Roger Klocke, and Robert Leppert.
