Mrs. EDWARD (Henrietta Hager) BECHTEL 1867-1956

Funeral services were held last Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home and 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Ludlow for Mrs. Edward Bechtel, who passed away February 20, 1956.

Mrs. Edward (Henrietta) Bechtel was born August 17, 1867, the daughter of Henry and Charlotte Reutkemeier Hager. For the past 25 years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Althouse at Postville, where she passed away on Monday, February 20, 1956, at the age of 88 years, six months and three days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Zalmona Presbyterian Church and joined the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church as a charter member in 1898. She was united in marriage with Edward Bechtel on March 14, 1895. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Henry (Martha M.) Althouse of Postville and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Kugel of Waukon.

Her husband preceded her in death in April, 1920. She leaves to mourn two daughters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
