Obituary:
Mrs. Frances G. Ayer, 71, wife of Henry F. Ayer, 55 South Grandview Avenue, died at Mercy Hospital Saturday night at 11:20 o'clock. Mrs. Ayer had been in ill health the past nine weeks.

The body is at the Hoffman Mortuary where the funeral will be held Tuesday morning to the Church of the Nativity, where a mass of requiem will be offered at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Ayer was born Dec. 22, 1871, at New Albin, Ia., a daughter of Patrick and Mary Callahan. She has lived in Dubuque the past 25 years. She was a Catholic, attended the Church of the Nativity and was a member of the Rosary Society and Nativity Guild of that parish and the Royal Neighbors. She was married July 2, 1895, at New Albin.

Surviving with her husband are her daughters, Mrs. Phillip M. (Lorraine) Noesges, Michigan City, Ind., and Mrs. John H. (Evolyn) Jansen and Sister Mary Colette, Sisters of Charity, BVM, Dubuque, and two grandchildren, Thomas A. and Anne Marie Noesges, Michigan City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Cleo.

Funeral:
The funeral of Mrs. Henry F. Ayer, 55 South Grandview Avenue, who died at Mercy Hospital Saturday night, was held Tuesday morning from the Hoffman Mortuary to the Church of the Nativity, where a mass of requiem was offered at 9 o'clock by the Rev. M. L. Kerper, pastor. Father Kerper delivered the funeral sermon and officiated at burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Very Rev. M.J. Martin, president of Loras College, was in the sanctuary for the mass.

The casketbearers were Walter Hartley, George J. Jansen, Dr. J. E. Bacon, R.L. Stotesbery, John Widmeieer, and Carl J. Kleinschmidt.

Persons from out of the city attending the funeral were Mrs. Phillip Noesges and children, Thomas and Anne Marie, Michigan City, Ind.; John Callahan, Burlington, Ia.; Miss Sellie Toole and Mrs. Mary Frawley, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. M.W. Smith, Minneapolis, Minn.
