DUDLEY W. ADAMS, one of the earliest citizens, and in many respects one of the most active and influential, of Waukon, died at Tangerine, Fla., on the 13th last. He came to Waukon in 1853 and in company with L. T. Woodcook, of Cresco, built the first lumber residence and store erected in that place. He will be remembered by many as an apostle of fruit culture, especially of apples; and remnants of an orchard of his planting remains. He has been a resident of Florida, and engaged in orange growing, for fifteen years past.
