DAVID ERHARDT 1883-1973
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28, 1973 at 1:30 p.m. from the First Baptist Church, Waukon, for David Erhardt, 89, who died Saturday, March 24, 1973 in Waterloo.
The Rev. Milton Dowden officiated and burial was in the Elgin cemetery. The Martin Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Erhardt was born July 4, 1883 in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Daniel and Sophie Sass Erhardt. He was educated in the schools in Racine.
March 10, 1903, he married Ida Burrow in Elgin. She died in 1971.
Survivors are two sons, Raymond of Elgin and Frank of Waterloo, and five daughters, Mrs. Clara Kostman, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. John R. (Florence) Ashbacher, Waukon; Mrs. Herbert (Frances) Dreier, Postville; Mrs. Fay (Marion) Wickham, Rockford and Mrs. Roland (Anna Mae) Newton, Waterloo. Twenty-three grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son Fred, 12 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Erhardt was a farmer until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Waukon.
