STINER JOSEPH EVANS 1884-1949
Rites Held For Former Resident
Stiner Joseph Evans, 65, who had been ill at his home in Waukon the past few weeks, succumbed to a heart attack September 20, while walking in the yard. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Evans, he was born in Franklin township, September 13, 1884, and spent his entire life in Allamakee county. The past twenty years he was employed with county construction road work.
In 1908 he was united in marriage with Rose Mary Harris. She survives with seven children, namely: Otto O. Evans of San Leandro, California; Mrs. D. M. Bodell, (Angie), Battle Creek, Michigan; Harris J., Fort Ord, California; Mrs. James Williams, Decorah; Kenneth, Mrs. Carl Jones (Bonnie) and Roberta, at home. Also two brothers, Carl, East Moline, Illinois; and Albert of Waukon.
Services were conducted Friday at the Waukon Methodist Church with Rev. H. Myron Braun officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
