CORA MINER MERSHON DEAD

Mrs. Cora Miner Mershon, wife of the Rev. Nelson A. Mershon, died at a local hospital at 3 a.m. Wednesday following an illness of three years. She was born Oct. 13, 1869, at Ion in Allamakee county and was a graduate of the University of Iowa dental college and practiced dentistry for sixteen years previous to her marriage June 21, 1916. Her husband was pastor of the Trinity Methodist church in Cedar Rapids many years ago and is now retired. She had resided in Cedar Rapids for nearly three years coming here from Waterloo. She was a former resident of Waukon. Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, F.D. Miner of Waterloo; W.H. Miner of Waukon and one sister, Mrs. R.C. Merzies of Chicago. Mrs. Mershon was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Methodist church at Waukon conducted by the Rev. Mr. Singer. Burial was made in the Waukon cemetery.

Mrs. Mershon is familiarly known to many Leader readers for the early years of her life spent on the home farm northeast of Watson. The sympathy of friends here is extended to the family in their bereavement.
