WAUKON - Funeral services for Max A. Niblock were held Thursday at St. Patrick's church conducted by the Rev. E.J. McDonald. His death occured at Hines Veterans hospital at Chicago, where he received care for several weeks. Son of Mr. and Mrs. David Niblock, he was born on a farm near Waukon Aug. 18, 1888*, and was left an orphan at age of nine years. For the last thirteen years he had been an employee of the Waukon Lumber company. He was a World war veteran and served as commander of the Waukon American Legion post in 1931-1932. He was also a member of the Pioneer Fire company of this city and served as fire marshall. Surviving are his wife, who was Mary Kernan of this vicinity and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Brooks of Lansing.
