Waukon, Ia. - Funeral arrangements were being made Saturday for Mrs. Mary Duggan, 85, well known Waukon resident, who died at her home here late Friday afternoon following a brief illness.
As Mary Karwan, she was born in Ireland in 1851. When a young girl she came to America with her aunt, settling in Waukon. On June 26, 1869, she was married at St. Patrick's church here to Patrick Duggan. They made their home on a farm just south of Waukon until 1898 when they moved to their home here.
Mr. Duggan died July 2, 1918.
She is survived by four daughters: Nellie and Mayme, both at home; Margaret of Chicago and Mrs. Anna Sullivan of Harpers Ferry; two sons, Edward and Dennis, both of Waukon; and four grandchildren.
A daughter, Kathryn, died here Sept. 26, 1932.
She was a member of St. Patrick's church.
