OTTO J. FISCHER 1883-1966

Funeral services were held Monday, October 17, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Otto J. Fischer who passed away October 14, 1966 at the Community Memorial Hospital here. The Rev. Lenwood L. Monte was in charge of the rites; burial was in Postville cemetery.

Otto J. Fischer, the son of Henry Fischer and Christina Duwe Fischer, was born at Clayton, Iowa on December 5, 1883. He was confirmed in St. John's Church in Guttenberg on April 3, 1898.

He was married to Eva Moetsch of Postville on March 29, 1910. To this union three children were born: Clarence of Guttenberg, Ora (Mrs. Burnell Anderson) of Postville, and Harold of Roseville, California. His wife died August 25, 1916. He married Ida McCurdy of Apollo, Pennsylvania on December 5, 1941.

Mr. Fischer farmed near Postville from 1910 to 1937 and moved to Postville in 1942 where he resided for the remainder of his life. He spent several winters in Orlando, Florida. He is survived by his wife; three children; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ida (Mrs. Sam Spengler) of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
