Mrs. JAMES (Adelia A. Meyer) FORAN

Services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, Saturday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. for Adelia A. Foran, who died at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, November 18, 1970. The Rev. Robert Henriksen officiated.

Adelia Amanda Foran, daughter of Carl and Elizabeth Meyer, was born January 26, 1887 at Garnavillo, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Garnavillo. She received her education in the rural school, Garnavillo township, and graduated from the Garnavillo high school in 1905.

November 24, 1908 she was united in marriage to James Foran at Dubuque. They farmed in the Elkader area until 1945 when they moved to Postville. After the death of her husband in 1958 she continued to make her home in Postville until February, 1968, when due to failing health she entered the Good Samaritan Home at Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers and five sisters. Surviving are two children, Vernice (Mrs. Kenneth Breitsprecher), St. Olaf, Iowa and Harold, El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Meyer, Garnavillo.

Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
