Dr. Ratcliffe was called to Waukon Monday by news of the death of his grandfather, Hon. Benjamin Ratcliffe.

Mr. Ratcliffe represented Allamakee Co. in the state legislature a quarter of a century ago, and was a leading member of that body.

He was 97 years of age at the time of his death and enjoyed remarkable health for one of his years.
