Richard Merle Strong, was born February 4, 1958 in LaCrosse, Wisc., the son of Norbert and Loretta (Stahl) Strong. Dick died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at his home.

He graduated from Kee High School in Lansing, Iowa, in 1977; where he was an outstanding baseball player.

Dick and his wife Bonnie, were married March 31, 1989 and shared 30 years of marriage.

He retired from Davenport Schools after 32 years of service. He started Strong Lawn Care in 1991, continuing that business until his health no longer allowed. His hobbies were raising Labradors, hunting and fishing up north with his uncles and cousins, and following sports.

Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Melissa (John) Trimble, Amanda (Nic) Hughes, and Andrea (Brian) Caldwell; a son, Michael; five grandchildren; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Patricia Maust and brother, Bruce Strong.

A celebration of life service was held at St. Andrew's Parush Hall in Blue Grass. A private burial will be held at a later date.
