Helen Louise Burman, age 87, of Waverly, Iowa died Monday, April 6, 2020 at her home. She was born August 6, 1932, the youngest child of 5 born to Helen (Hermanson) and Oscar Seele. She graduated in 1950 from the Waterville, Iowa Consolidated High School. After graduation, Helen moved to Waterloo, Iowa and in January 1952 began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, a job she held until retiring in 1992.

Helen married John Clark Burman on October 22, 1954. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Secret Pals, and Beta Sigma Phi. Helen took pride in caring for her home and family. She was a great cook, sharing many meals and delicious treats with her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting. Above all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her son, John, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; two daughters Ann (Jim) Luebbers of Aplington, Iowa and Sue (Dan) Demuth of Waverly, Iowa; four grandchildren Bailey (Anthony) Miller, Ella Luebbers, Dani (Jason) Hoerman, and Drew (girlfriend Whitley) Demuth; two great-grandchildren Anthony Miller II, and Wren Hoerman; and a sister-in-law Iva Mae Roettjer of Seward, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John who died on September 29, 2000; a son Mark D. Burman on July 27, 1983; three brothers, DeForest, Lyle, and Lester Seele; and a sister Dorothy Butler.

Due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, a visitation and funeral service was not held. Private graveside services were to be held at a later time at the Andrews Cemetery in rural Waverly, Iowa.
