STEGER, THOMA, FEUREHEIM

Lansing, Ia., Dec 28 - Funeral services for Fred Steger, who died at the family home here Thursday, were held on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception church, Monsignor George Haxmier officiating with interment in Gethsemane.

Mr. Steger was born in Germany Feb. 24, 1846. He came to America in 1871, settling in Allamakee county a short while after, and this locality has since been his home.

On May 28, 1874, he was married to Miss Juliana Thoma, and to this union eleven children were born, eight of whom, with the widow survive: Mrs. Julius Feureheim of Caledonia, Minn.; Jacobinia of Cleveland, O.; Anna of Rochester, Minn.; Josephine and Martha of Lansing; Robert of Stone Lake, Wis.; Theodore of Rochester, and Herman of Minneapolis, all of whom were present at the funeral except Robert and Jacobinia.

Mr. Steger was a life-long member of the Immaculate Conception church.
