DIED. At his residence, near Postville, Jan. 12th, 1891, of typhoid pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks, Geo. W. Hanks, aged 56 years, three months and four days.
G. W. Hanks was born in West Almond, Allegheny Co., New York, Oct 8th, 1834. At the age of four years his father with his family moved to Wayne twp., Crawford county, Pennsylvania, where he lived till the 21st of April, 1859.
At the age of seventeen he professed faith in the christian religion, and was baptized and united with the Lake Creek Free Baptist church in Pennsylvania.
He was married to M. A. Banister July 3, 1856, moved to Grand Meadow, Clayton Co., Iowa, April 24, 1859.
The funeral of Mr. Hanks yesterday was one of the largest ever held in this section. James Hanks arrived from Colorado in time to attend the funeral.
