Joe Hecker Is Interred Here Monday Afternoon

Joseph Hecker, son of Robert Frederick and Mary Hupp Hecker, was born September 22, 1881, in Postville, where he lived all his life. He died at the Postville Community Hospital on Friday, April 5, 1957 at the age of 75 years.

Joseph Hecker was graduated from the Postville High School.

He was married April 25, 1811 to Alice Thill at Monona, Iowa. To this union two children were born who died in infancy.

Joseph Hecker was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and his wife, who died September 24, 1943.

He is survived by a brother Robert Hecker of Postville.

The active life of Joseph Hecker was spent in the business world with his father and brothers whose various business ventures included a wagon shop, garage, auto sales agency and farming.

Joseph was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

Funeral services were held at the Community Presbyterian Church Monday, April 8, 1957 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
