JOHN KASCEL - died 1915

John Kascel died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. A. Flick, 2873 Elm street, Wednesday night at 11 o'clock following a several months illness of bright's disease. He was 67 years of age and is survived by his wife and following children: Mrs. Flick: William, of this city: Walter, of Mineapolis: Charles, of Iowa City, and one sister, Mrs. Horace Burnam, Monona, Ia. Mr. Kascel made his home in Dubuque for a number of years and was widely known. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the Holy Ghost church and interment will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Mr. Kascel was a member of the Court of Honor. [Note: Both John and Mary Kascel lived a great part of their life in Lansing, circa 1860-93.]

John Kassel, aged 67 years, died Wednesday night at 11 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. A. Flick, 2873 Elm street. The deceased had suffered from Bright's disease for several months and death resulted from that malady. The deceased was a member of the Court of Honor and of the Catholic church, and was a well know and highly respected resident of the community. He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. A. A. Flick and William, of Dubuque; Walter, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. F. Chase, of Iowa City; also by one sister, Mrs. Horace Burnam, of Monona, Ia. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the residence, 2873 Elm street, to the Holy Ghost church, and burial will be at Mt. Calvary.
