Mrs. FRANCIS (Carrie Wilson) Baker KELLEHER

The Rev. J. A. Sullivan, pastor of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, officiated at a requiem high mass for Mrs. Carrie Kelleher on Friday, May 13, at 9:00 a.m.; Mrs. Kelleher passed away on May 11, 1966. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Elkader.

Carrie Wilson Kelleher, the daughter of James Gilmore Wilson and Lacy Ann Wilson, was born September 8, 1884 on a farm northeast of Maquoketa, Jackson county, Iowa. She died at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville on May 11, 1966 following an illness of three weeks.

She was married to Charles Baker in 1903. He passed away in 1904 following an accident. She married Dr. Francis Kelleher in 1915 at Dubuque. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive: Dr. George T. Kelleher of Battle Creek, Michigan; J. Robert Kelleher of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Jean (Mrs. Edward L.) Porter of Pueblo, Colorado.

The deceased graduated from Maquoketa high school in 1901; taught country school and assisted in a millinery shop in Maquoketa between 1904 and 1909; graduated from Finley Hospital, Dubuque, as a registered nurse in 1912. Following her marriage to Dr. Kelleher in 1915, the couple moved to Postville in 1916. She served as a homemaker and a registered nurse. In Postville, she founded the Hospital Auxiliary and also served as superintendent of the hospital.

Dr. Kelleher passed away in October, 1933.

She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, St. Theresa Circle, and St. Bridget's Altar Society. Mrs. Kelleher is survived by her three children. She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers and sisters.
