DIED - at his home in Linton twp., on Thursday morning, April 9th, F.J.J. Timmerman, aged 50 years, 5 months and 24 days. The deceased was sick just a week with lung fever and pneumonia. He leaves an affectionate wife and eight children, one brother and two sisters to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred at the Watson stone church Saturday. Rev. W.V. Schung officiating.

The body of Fett's baby was also interred at the same time.

DIED - At his home near Watson, in Allamakee County, April 9th, 1896, Mr. John Frederick Timmerman.

The deceased was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, Oct. 15, 1845, and was married to Miss Amelia Kregor in the year 1875. To this union were born eight children, three boys and five girls, the loving wife, two sisters and an only brother mourn his sudden death.

He was loved and respected by all that knew him.

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church April the 11th at 11:30 p.m. [sic] by Rev. Schulrek and was largely attended by his many friends and relatives. His remains were laid at rest in the Trappe cemetery.

His son Frankie was sent for,
Was called to see him die;
And friends who dearly loved him,
Came to bid him a last good bye.

Dearest husband, you have left me,
And my heart is sad tonight;
Oh! that I again could see you,
All my dreams would be so bright.

Father, dear, thou hast left us,
And with thee our joys have fled;
Oh! tis hard to think our Father,
Good and kind and true, is dead.

Father, dearest, thou has left us,
Oh! how bitter is our loss,
Oh! Dear Lord, Tis hard to carry,
Over our way this heavy cross.

Brother thou has left me,
Left me for the happy land;
Left me at the call of Jesus,
Left to join the Angels band.

Father dearest, thou has left us,
Over your grave sweet flowers shall grow;
Violets, sweet roses,
Blooming lilies white as snow.

My husband, dearest you have left me,
And my heart with grief is sore;
But we'll meet again in heaven,
And we'll never part no more.

Notes:
Clayton county death record gives burial place as National, but I believe the most likely place is Council Hill, which may have been known to some as the Trappe cemetery at the time of his death. The Council Hill cemetery is located just south of the Allamakee co. border in Clayton county, not far from Watson.

Anyone who can confirm his & the Fett infant's burial place please reply. The Fett infant was most likely the child of R.W. Fett who was a merchant in Watson at this time.
