Mrs. CHARLES (Mary Sophia Reincke) KROGMANN
Mary Sophia Krogmann, daughter of Carl and Marie Hanna (Schultz) Reincke, was born October 30, 1882 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She passed away November 27, 1981 at Proctor Community Hospital, Peoria, Illinois.
She was baptized at Clayton Center, Iowa by the Rev. Seifert and confirmed April 11, 1897 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville by the Rev. F. H. Schumann. She attended a rural school in Clayton County.
On October 16, 1902 she was united in marriage to Charles Frederick Krogmann. To this union two children were born. They lived their entire life in the house on West Williams Street in Postville, where her husband was a carpenter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, who died July 22, 1946, a son, Harvey, three sisters: Mrs. Eda Meyer, Mrs. Anna Saueresig, and Mrs. Amelia Willman; three brothers: Arthur, Charles and Fred.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Bareis of Washington, Ill., two grandsons: Kenneth of Fayetteville, NC and Richard of New York City; and three great-grandchildren.
Note: the surname is frequently spelled 'Krogman'.
