Mrs. MILO (Beulah Bell Ralston) LIVINGOOD

Beulah Bell (Ralston) Livingood, the daughter of Earl John and Phoena Ann (Evans) Ralston, was born August 24, 1917, in Jefferson Township, Allamakee County, near Rossville, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, September 19, 1998, in Veterans Memorial hospital at Waukon, Iowa. She had reached the age of 81 years and 25 days.

Beulah was baptized as an adult on April 8, 1973, by the Reverend Dick F. Harberts when she joined the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. She attended the Bear Hollow School, District No. 9 and was graduated from the Waukon High School in 1938. Beulah taught in the Bear Hollow, English Bench, and the Myron rural schools from 1938 to 1941.

On June 18, 1941 Beulah was married to Milo Miller Livingood in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Judy and Roger.

They farmed north of Waukon and then near the Myron area until February of 1970, when they moved to their present home on East Greene Street in Postville. Beulah cleaned at the Schutte Furniture Store for over 25 years and also cleaned at the Postville State Bank. She loved her family, and there was a very special mother-daughter relationship between Beulah and Judy. Beulah also enjoyed working in the garden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Judy, who died September 16, 1998, twin grandsons, Dayton and Darrin Kuhse, a sister, Helen Gelo, one brother, Curtis Ralston, two sisters-in-law, Pat Ralston and Mildred Ralston, two brothers-in-law, Ruben Schutte, and George Gelo.

Surviving is a son, Roger Livingood and wife, Gloria, of DeBary, FL., a son-in-law, Donald Kuhse of Postville; five grandchildren, Rhonda Curran, Gail Livingood-Marsengill, Vicky Fisher, Carmen Straitiff, and Carmel Barclay; seven great grandchildren, Brenda, Rebecca, and Chelsea Curran, Ashley Bayne and Mathew Straitiff, Zebulon Fisher and Caitlin Marsengill; three brothers, Gerald Ralston and wife, Nancy, of Escondido, CA., Dale Ralston, of Lenexa, KS., Leon Ralston and wife, Pauline, of Dubois, WY, and three sisters, Marjorie Schutte of Decorah, IA, Roberta and husband, William Livingood, of Waukon, IA, and Lucille and husband, Wilburt Topel of Milwaukee, WI. Beulah was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville and the Women of CPC.

Interment: Postville Cemetery.
