Violet Elizabeth Marston 1888-1918

Miss Violet Marston passed away Monday afternoon at the home of her mother where she had been since coming home from her teaching position in Hampton. She would have been 30 years old next week.

Note: Violet was born October 29, 1888 in Post twp., Allamakee county, Iowa. She died October 21, 1918 of Spanish influenza. Aged 29 years, 11 mo. and 22 days. She was buried October 23, 1918 in the Postville Cemetery, Section C. She was a school teacher. Her parents were Arthur Fisher Marston and Jennie M. Carithers. Her brothers and sisters were: Vera C. Marston, Mrs. Stanley Fritzsimmons; Euclid C. Marston; Jay Marston and Daisy Miriam Marston, Mrs. Lafe F. Tague. She was the great granddaughter of Reuben and Martha (Lewis) Smith of the Old Stone House fame.
