Funeral services for Malinda A. Meyer were held Thursday, April 16, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. Reverend Julius L. Peterson officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Malinda A. Meyer, daughter of Conrad and Minnie (Busacker) Welzel, was born June 16, 1891 on a farm near Postville in Grand Meadow Township. She died April 14, 1981 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, at the age of 89 years. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She attended rural schools.

February 6, 1914 she was married to Damond G. Meyer. They became the parents of one child, Conrad Carl, who died in infancy. They farmed together in the Postville and Castalia area for many years, retiring in 1959 to live in Postville. Damond died December 8, 1972.

Malinda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and is an Honor Roll member of the Lutheran Church Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, and a sister, Mrs. Otto (Sabina) Oldag. Survivors include a nephew, nieces and cousins.
