OSCAR F. GORDON 1876-1953
Former Resident Dies At Waterloo
Oscar F. Gordon, 76, of Waterloo died of a heart condition at 12:15 Saturday at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He had been seriously ill since March 31. He was a former resident of this community.
He was born October 17, 1876, in Clayton county, the son of William and Kathryn Gordon. He married Malinda Mary Kluss December 31, 1900, in Postville.
Mr. Gordon was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church. He was employed for a number of years at the Forum Roof Ballroom in Waterloo.
Surviving are the wife; one daughter, Mrs. Verla Edna Griffith, San Francisco, California; three sons, Kenneth, at home; Clifford J., South Gate, California, and Harlan, Waterloo, four brothers, John, Robert, Howard and Frank, all of Postville, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Those attending the funeral from this vicinity were: Mrs. Frank Gordon, John Gordon, Mrs. Lizzie Dahms, Mrs. Ethel Meyer, Mrs. Elbe Christofferson, Mr. and Mrs. George Kluss, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Landt, all of Postville; Howard Gordon of Gunder; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Rowland of Clermont; and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dahms of Monona.
