John S. Mott Dead.
Postville Review:--On Wednesday afternoon at a few minutes before three o’clock, John S. Mott passed peacefully away at the family home in this city, in his 82d year. Mr. Mott is one of the oldest residents of Postville, known and respected by everybody, and while the announcement of his death would not have been unexpected at any time for a number of years past, the news of his passing came somewhat as a shock. For many years Mr. Mott was engaged in the lumber and hardware business here, from which he retired only when prompted by ill headth{sic} to do so. His death was due to no specific disease, but to a general breaking down of a once rugged constitution after an active life of many years
He is survived by his aged wife, three daughters and one son.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the Postville Cemetery and that he was born in May 1823 and died April 19, 1905.
