Henry C. Miller, the son of Carl Miller and Louise Michael Miller, was born in Germany on June 11, 1882 . He was baptized as an infant in Germany and confirmed in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on April 11, 1897. He passed away on November 17, 1959 at the age of 77 years, five months and six days.

He was married to Minnie Kohrs on December 15, 1908, and for many years they lived on a farm south of Postville, near Clermont. To this union were born two children, Amy, Mrs. Eldon Stirk of Rockford, Illinois, and Cloy Miller of Clermont.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Louis and Carl. He is survived by his wife and his children; five sisters, Anna, Mrs. Wilbert Wilke of Postville; Bertha, Mrs. John Gregg of Postville; Amanda, Mrs. Clarence Smith of Waterloo; Gusta, Mrs. Howard Wykoff of Waterloo; and Edith, Mrs. Frank Bellows of Dubuque; two brothers, August Miller of Postville and William F. Miller of Postville; one granddaughter, Bonnie Miller of Clermont, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home on Saturday, November 21, at 1:30. Burial was in the Postville cemetery with the Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating.
