ROY WILLIAM MOON
Services were conducted Monday, January 18, 1971 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Roy W. Moon who died at his home in Postville, Friday, January 15, 1971. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.
Roy William Moon, son of Harry and Christina Muller Moon, was born May 24, 1897 in Monona Township. On May 1, 1918 he was married to Dalia Heins. To this union two daughters were born.
He had farmed in the Postville area until 1958 when he retired and moved to town. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a past member of the IOOF and served on the school board for the Luana Consolidated District from 1925 to 1937.
His wife Dalia died May 24, 1951. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Earnie, Arthur and Floyd.
He is survived by his wife Lillian Meier Moon, whom he married December 26, 1952; two daughters, Bernice (Mrs. Roger Pearson) and Jeanne (Mrs. Don Wirkler) of Monona; a sister, Mrs. Hugo Vogt; a brother Harold; two granddaughters, Mrs. Marvin Grout and Mrs. Lyle Boebel, both of Marion, Iowa, and three great grandchildren. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
