RITES HELD FOR MRS. J. MUCHOW

Mrs. Mamie Muchow, daughter of Enos and Bennette Wells Ervin, was born June 2, 1878 in Postville, Iowa. She received her education in the Postville schools.

She was united in marriage to John Muchow, and to this union were born nine children, seven sons and two daughters.

The couple made Postville their home for the majority of their lives. She died at a nursing home in Monona, Iowa on June 16,1963 at the age of 85 years and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one half-brother.

She is survived by seven sons, Clarence of Long Beach, California, Joseph of Luana, John, Jr. of Ottumwa, Walter of Galena, Alaska, Enos and Hall of Postville, and Guy of Clermont; two daughters, Mrs. Maria Moses of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Margaret, Mrs. Edward Levy of Des Moines; 33 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20, 1963 with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
