Mrs. Chris Poesch (Minnie Koenig) was born in Garnavillo on May 26, 1874, the daughter of William Koenig and Charlotte Meyer Koenig. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church on August 9, 1874, and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on March 25, 1888. She passed away at a nursing home in Monona on September 23, 1958 at the age of 84 years, three months and eight days.

Minnie Koenig was united in marriage to Herman Rose in November 1898. Twin sons, Arbie and Irey were born to this union. Mr. Rose passed away on July 31, 1920.

She was united in marriage to Chris Poesch on December 20, 1921. Mr. Poesch passed away in 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Rose; her second husband, Chris Poesch; one son, Irey of Postville; four sisters, Louise, Mrs. Charles Kaiser of Monona, Rosina, Mrs. Fred Ruckdaschel of Postville, Mary, Mrs. George Schroeder of Frankville, Lena, Mrs. Reuben Christofferson of Postville; and one brother, Louis, of Postville.

She is survived by one son, Arbie, of Postville, two brothers, William and Fred of Castalia, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on September 26 at 2:00 by the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
