Mrs. ARTHUR (Pearl Smith) PRICE
Pearl R. Price, 82, of Postville died Thursday at Thornton Manor, Lansing, Iowa. Her husband, Arthur, died May 16, 1973. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Schutte Funeral Home in Postville, where friends may call after 2:30 p.m., Sunday. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, rural Postville. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Shirley) Miller of Waukon, Iowa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clinton Smith of Postville, and one sister, Ethelyn Smith of Manchester, Iowa.

Pearl (Smith) Price 1901-1983
Funeral services for Pearl Price, 82, were held Monday, Sept. 12, 1983 at 2 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Reverend James Elvig officiated. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery, rural Postville.Pearl R. Price, daughter of Ira E. and Jennie (Smith) Smith, was born Feb. 28, 1901 in Post township, Allamakee county. She passed away Sept. 8, 1983 at Thornton Manor, Lansing.
She attended the rural Myron School near their farm and graduated from Postville High School. She was also a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. For many years she taught in various schools throughout the state of Iowa.
December 5, 1933, she was married to Arthur W. Price in Postville. To this union two daughters were born. They farmed north of Postville for many years. For the past year, Pearl had been a resident of Thornton Manor at Lansing.
She was a member of the Forest Mills United Methodist Church and its women's group and served as a Sunday school teacher.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, who died May 16, 1973, a daughter, Jeanne Marie, who died in infancy, and a brother, Lester.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Shirley) Miller, Lansing, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother, Clinton Smith, Postville and a sister, Ethelyn Smith Manchester.
