Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home for Gustave Renne, 77, who passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union on November 30, 1954. Rev. C. E. Witt was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Gustave Adolph Renne, the son of William Renne and Henrietta Kugel, was born in Allamakee county on February 4, 1877. He passed away on November 30, 1954 at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, at the age of 77.
Mr. Renne was married to Hattie McIntyre in Frankville in 1903. To this union was born one son, Floyd, who now resides in Phoenix, Arizona. His first wife passed away in June 1919.
He was married to Amy Kugel on September 15, 1920 in West Union. He lived in Cedar Rapids for more than 30 years. His wife, Amy, passed away on December 26, 1940. He came to live in West Union at the Good Samaritan home in March 1952.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Hattie in 1919, his second wife, Amy in 1940, and two brothers, Fred and Charles.
He is survived by one sister, Martha Wallace of Waukon, and one brother, Paul Renne of Charles City. Mr. Renne was baptized in the Presbyterian Church at an early age.
