John C. ROBEY, city marshall of Waukon, died last Friday, after a brief illness from pneumonia.

Waukon, March 7 - City Marshall J.C. Robey died on Friday last of pneumonia after a brief illness and was buried Sunday from the M.E. church, of which he was a member, the funeral being very largely attended.

He was one of the most efficient and faithful officers the town has every had.

John Clark Robey was the son of Hezekiah Robey and Caroline (Porter) Robey. He was born July 15, 1848 in Monongalia County, Virginia (West). In 1855 the Hezekiah Robey family migrated to Allamakee County and settled on a farm in Jefferson Township, near Rossville, Iowa. On July 1, 1875, John Clark Robey married Sarah Jane Dunn. She was the daughter of William Stinson Dunn and Mary A. McShane. Sarah was born January 3, 1834 in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa and died December 18, 1950 in Oklahoma. They were the parents of Frederick C. Robey who was born in 1876 and Mary Temperance Robey who was born in 1878.
