URBAN "Steve" JOSEPH SADLER 1894-1985

Funeral services for Urban "Steve" Sadler were held Monday, Dec. 23, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, rural New Albin.

Urban ("Steve") Joseph Sadler, son of Joseph Grant and Laura (Beardmore) Sadler, was born Dec. 29, 1894 at Dorchester, IA. He died Dec. 20 in Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

He was baptized Jan. 27, 1896 and confirmed April 10, 1922. He attended the English Bench School near Dorchester.

June 8, 1921 he was married to Leona Meyer at Waukon. They had four children. "Steve" had been employed as a mechanic all of his life. They moved to Postville in 1940.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Roy, Clifford and Wayne.

Surviving are his wife, Leona, four daughters, Niara Harris, St. Paul, MN; Delores (Mrs. Wesley Thoma), Cedar Rapids; Eileen (Mrs. Eugene Huebner), Postville; and Rose Ann (Mrs. Fred Swartz), Big Rapids, MI; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Bliss Roberts of Waukon.

Casket bearers were Mark Swartz, Ma__ Swartz, George Claussen, Larry Claussen, Kevin Schultz and Dwayne Huebner.
