Rites Held For Mrs. Ed Schlee
Services are being held today (Wednesday), January 29, 1975 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Mrs. Ed Schlee, who died Monday, January 27, 1975 at Community Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Norman Ullestad will officiate.
Born October 30, 1894, in Bloomfield Township near Postville, Mary Minnie was the daughter of Fred J. and Charlotte Schroeder Meyer. She was baptized December 19, 1894 by the Rev. John Gass and confirmed April 4, 1909 by Pastor Kuehne. She remained an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran congregation and particularly in the L. C. W. all her life.
On February 14, 1917, she was married to Edward Schlee. They lived on a farm south of Postville until 1929 when they moved to town.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and six brothers.
Survivors include her husband and her six children, Mrs. Reuben (Charlotte) Baethke of Cresco; James, Richard and William of Postville; Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Jane) Timmerman, Castalia and Mrs. Milton (Betty) Anderson, Waukon. There are 25 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ella Hoth of Postville.
Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
